Q: Do you accept health insurance?
A:Yes. We provide treatment covered by Japanese public health insurance. Please note that medical certificates and certain documents are not covered by insurance and will require out-of-pocket payment. Any self-funded services will be explained in advance.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A:We accept cash only. Credit cards and electronic payments are not available.
Q: Is parking available?
A:We do not have a dedicated parking lot. Please use public transportation when visiting the clinic.
Q: Is a female doctor available?
A:Yes, a female physician is available on designated days. If you prefer a female doctor, please inform us when making your appointment.
Q: Do you see minors?
A:Yes. We see minors with conditions such as night terrors, insomnia, circadian rhythm sleep-wake disorders, hypersomnia (including narcolepsy), and epilepsy. We do not impose a strict age limit. However, a parent or legal guardian is required to accompany the patient at the first visit. Depending on the condition, referral to an appropriate specialist facility may be recommended.
Q: How often will I need to visit?
A:During the initial phase of treatment, visits are typically scheduled every 1–2 weeks. Once your condition stabilizes, the interval between visits may be extended.
Q: How long are appointments and waiting times?
A:Initial consultations usually take about one hour, including waiting time. Follow-up visits typically last 5–10 minutes. We operate on a time-slot reservation system, so please arrive with some flexibility.
Q: Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment?
A:Yes. Please contact us by phone as early as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Q: I am concerned about side effects.
A:We aim to prescribe medications with minimal side effects and usually start at low doses. If you experience any concerns, please consult us promptly.
Q: Will I become dependent on medication?
A:Some medications may carry a risk of dependence. However, with careful management and appropriate use, this risk can be minimized. We provide thorough explanations before prescribing.
Q: Can I receive counseling only?
A:Yes, if the physician determines it is medically necessary. We also provide support to help stabilize your condition and prepare for returning to work.
Q: Can you issue a medical certificate for sick leave?
A:We provide care for a wide range of mental health and sleep-related conditions, including insomnia, anxiety, depression, loss of motivation, excessive daytime sleepiness, and other sleep disorders such as sleep apnea and restless legs syndrome. If you are unsure whether your symptoms require medical attention, please feel free to consult us.
Q: Do you provide assessments for developmental disorders (e.g., ADHD)?
A:Developmental disorders are not diagnosed based on testing. In making a diagnosis, we place importance not only on current symptoms but also on the individual’s developmental history from early childhood. When possible, we ask parents or guardians to bring materials such as the maternal and child health handbook and school report cards to help us understand this history. Even if difficulties become more noticeable during adolescence, we do not make a diagnosis of a developmental disorder solely on the basis of intelligence testing results or a so-called “borderline” range score. We make a comprehensive and careful assessment, taking into account the person’s developmental course and overall life context.
Q: Can you prescribe Concerta?
A:Yes. A registered physician is available to prescribe Concerta. For new prescriptions, careful evaluation over multiple visits is required. If you are already prescribed Concerta, please bring your registration card.

A:Yes. This system reduces the patient’s co-payment to 10% in principle. You must register our clinic as your designated medical institution.
Q: Will my medical information be shared with my family or employer?
A:We do not disclose medical information to third parties without your consent. All personal information is handled with strict confidentiality.
Q: I am receiving public assistance. Can I make an appointment?
A:Yes. Our clinic is a designated medical institution under the Public Assistance Act. Patients who receive medical assistance are welcome to visit us. Before your appointment, please consult your assigned caseworker and bring your medical voucher with you. Please note that we do not accept patients under workers’ compensation insurance.
