Life is often likened to a voyage. Even a smooth journey can be shaken by sudden storms, and as ancient fables suggest, people tend to let their guard down after surviving danger, when caution is still needed.
Titanic (1997) portrays this through a historical tragedy, where differences in class shape who lives and who dies. The romance of Jack and Rose is symbolic, yet beneath it lies a rigid social structure that keeps people apart.
In real disasters, survival does not guarantee peace of mind. Loss of stability and lingering uncertainty cast long shadows. To survive is not the same as to go on living—raising the question of how life can be sustained even after crisis.
