Marguerite and Florence Foster Jenkins portray real-life tone-deaf singers, showing how pure passion and the intentions of those around them intertwine.
In both films, what drives the story is not musical skill, but the performer’s conviction and the gaze of others. Tone deafness here reflects not only ability, but a mismatch between perception, action, and cognition.
