The Aesop’s fable paradox—where a condition is described as “improving” while the patient is actually nearing death—reveals the gap between language and reality. Fukkatsu no Hi depicts a global pandemic triggered by a Cold War-era biological weapon, pushing humanity into an extreme crisis. Even medical and scientific advances are confronted with uncontrollable realities, where the mismatch between prediction and outcome shapes civilization’s fate. Both fable and film expose the fragility of what we call “reassurance,” and how easily it can distort perception.
