Red Beard depicts a young, elite-minded doctor who, through confronting poverty and illness, gradually awakens to the true meaning of medicine. The film reveals both the limits of medical practice and the social conditions that give rise to disease.
It quietly suggests that a physician’s essence lies in the willingness to face human suffering and continue to stand beside it.
